If you are really in the mood to set out in the footsteps of mountain-climbing legends, then our region’s numerous fixed-cable via ferrata climbs present you with a perfect opportunity. Your choices range from climbing Austria’s highest peak, the Grossglockner, to somewhat smaller challenges led by trained guides in a practice climbing area, or perhaps at the indoor climbing center in Saalfelden. 100 climbing routes on the Kitzsteinhorn as well as the via ferrata climbs next to the reservoirs are certain to thrill you.

A somewhat different, though no less exciting form of climbing awaits you at the high-ropes course. Only about 30 kilometers from Hotel Sonja Alpine Resort, at the valley head of Saalbach/Hinterglemm, is Austria’s biggest high-ropes park.
